Nonsexual hooking up, institutional style

We've discussed "hooking up" here before, including the salience of its
sexual and nonsexual meanings, but i thought i'd offer the first
*institutional* use of the term i've ever seen that's not directed
toward undergraduates--and it's a clearly nonsexual use (well, at least
i *hope* it's nonsexual).

The opening sentences of an email from the University of Central Florida
Staff Council (essentially, the staff analogue to the Faculty Senate):

   The UCF Police Department is hooking up with the police forces of
   some of the other universities in Florida to help those hit by
   Katrina. They will be taking donations of new clothing items,
   toiletries and such to the hurricane hit area on Friday...
