Ben has already done Texas Leaguer. See posts earlier (or, as someone
once said, "Check the Archives!").

For the others, what are the dates to beat? The _only_ way to
productively work this database on terms with "texas" in them is to use
the earliest current citation, and work backwards in time from there.
Searching for Texas Toast maxes out with 200 cites before you get out of
the 1880's. And I'm sure that none of them are useful. "Texas ADJ
toast" gives a 34 cites, from 1886 to 1976. The response is slow, and
it will take a long time to check each one of them for the first useful
hit. If I knew I had to beat a particular date, I could start with the
first one earlier than that, and word backwards until I found a hit or
decided it was fruitless.

Barry, I'm glad to try and help you with the terms you are looking for,
but give me something more specific to work on.
