just heard on NPR

I just heard the verb _administrates_ in a news story about school
administration in the Bennington, Vt., area.  The word appears in MW11
with the earliest date 1550.  I just expected it to be more modern than
that.  When did this sort of back formation (e.g. from administrator or
administration) start to explode?
