Sante Fe, New Mexico?

I guess I need to clue in the list:

My disturbance with the puzzle was not with the absence of the
diacritic, but with the puzzle's misspelling of the New Mexico
city. It's the fifth letter of "Capital of New Mexico", not the last
letter, that crossed with "bachstroke".
