Okay, it is TV-related and Battlestar Galactica is mentioned later on in the
article, so the author is aware of the word's use on that show, but the
immediate context has nothing to do with that show:

"'Giddy darkness' is what I call it, and it's the sort of energy that lies
behind all of my favorite things: 'Six Feet Under,' 'Arrested Development,'
'South Park,' 'The Sopranos' ... Can you frackin' believe that Tony and the
gang will be back in March? It's way too exciting for words."
