Here in Dubuque, Iowa it was (forgive my lame attempt at phonetic spelling) “cry-muh-NIT-lee”. Years later when I uttered it in Boston and got funny looks, one black friend said his father pronounced it “cry-moe-NATE-lee.” Bill Le May
