The term "spooneristic conundrum" was (I think) coined by
Alan Dundes, who gave several examples, some of which have
appeared in these discussions.

Dundes, "Some Minor Genres of Obscene Folklore," Journal of
American Folklore 75 (1962): 221-26.

Incidentally:  The word "spooneristic" doesn't seem to
appear in the OED.

"Dosh garn you . . . ," he shouted, using the spooneristic
expletive . . . ." --Alfred Noyes, The Hidden Player (1924),
p. 78.

It's also in the NY Times for 17 Feb. 1924.
