Ancestor/ Descendant PLUS "tote the line"

I don't see these exx. in the Archives; frankly, I can't get enough of 'em:

  1996 Fred Turner _Echoes of Combat_ (N.Y.: Anchor/Doubleday) 100: As God once saved the colonists of New England, so now, [John] Wayne implies [in _The Green Berets_] the ancestors of those colonists will save another helpless people.

  And on the next page:

  1996...101: "The Communist side," wrote the _New York Times_, toting the Nixon line, was "inhuman."

  Dr. Turner has taught communications at Harvard and MIT and is currently head of undergraduate communications programs at Stanford.

  2004 Philip V. G. Wallace _The Call of the Sea_ (Victoria, B.C.: Trafford) 33: But, you just make him tote the line. He forgets his place sometimes.
