Good point!

Of course, "heart and soul"--possibly from the same source--has its own standing as an idiom, though it's somewhat slighted by the OED, which gives just one adverbial instance of the phrase (from 1883) and one nominal instance (from 1884).

EEBO (from the 16th and 17th centuries) yields 800+ instances of the phrase (with various spellings of the words).
