I remember years ago hearing a basketball game between some university
and Yukon.  I was surprised that Yukon even had a college of any sort,
much less a very good basketball team.  Only later did I learn that it
wasn't Yukon, but U Conn.  The stress was just wrong for U Conn.

Another notable approach to university initialisms is taken by the
University of Vermont, which instead of settling for UV, or even UVT,
has chosen to go by UVM, based on its Latin moniker, Universitas
Viridis Montis.
