Close listening for "ex" and "tion"

Listening to the TV for words starting with "ex" I find they are mostly
short e not short i  (ex not ix).  This should be recognized by m-w.com,
which is a great resource.

I find also that m-w.com pronunciation of "tion" endings as spoken (hit the
speaker icon) is ~shin instead of ~shun, and this agress with, close
listening to TV.
