Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton University Library announced on Tuesday that
it will contribute about one million public domain books to Google's project
to digitize literary works and make them searchable on the Web.

Princeton is the 12th major library to agree to participate in the project,
joining the New York Public Library and libraries at universities including
Oxford, Harvard, Stanford and the University of California.

Google's book-scanning project has also drawn controversy, in the form of a
lawsuit from major publishers who claim Google's use of their
still-copyrighted works in its book index constitutes infringement.
