"... I shined her on ..."

Heard this 'Sixties chestnut tonight from the mouth of a character on
the TV show, "Shark." It's missing from Spears, S&E, but it's still
alive and kicking among TV writers, I guess.

For the younger folk, the phrase means, "I blew her off."
