I remember best _The Wall_ (1950), on the Warsaw ghetto uprising; and
_A Bell for Adano_ (1944).

(Apropos to today: I see he also wrote _Aspects of the Presidency_
(1975), one of which's two parts is on Gerald R. Ford.)
