Another kind of buddy: ''guy''

As it happens, the more aggressive member of the gay couple across the
hall always addresses me as "guy" : "Hi ya doin', guy?" However, I
have no reason to consider this to be a gay thing, since I'm not gay.
His partner doesn't do this and my gay buddies don't do it, either. As
far as my experience goes, it's merely a peculiarity of this one
person's speech habits.
