True. But you can often double-check by looking the title up at one of
the bookstoress cited in the list of places available, especially if
it's at Amazon. Such a search once saved me from buying a memoir of
serrvice in the Army Security Agency that contained not a single
reference to the Army Language School.

The next time that I attempt to document an antedating of
"spit-shine," I'll make it a point to conduct a similar search before
going public! ;-)
