"Wolfing"

"Wolf Tickets": I see Disney's Big Bad Wolf (Zeke) sellin' tickets.

"Woof Tickets": What's up with that? Tickets to a dog show?

Yet I find myself writing "woof" in preference to hearing the { l } pronounced, even in my head. Is this a sickness?

A while ago, there was a question raised by my use of the spelling,
"wolfing," presumably because I didn't use instead the spelling,
"woofing." FWIW, on the CD, I DIE FO[sic], released April 1, 1999, by
The Diablos, there appears a rap entitled, "_Wolf_ Tickets."

come from the mouths of people who have had to live.
