"adorn" as 'wear'

Oh I'm quite sure that distinction is lost on many.

Not many of the 301K google hits for "donning a *"  refer to the act of
'putting on' an outfit.

donning a mask/top-hat/wig/suit... pretty much interchangeable with
"wearing"
