proprietous and improprietous

Neither MS Word nor the AHD like the words proprietous and
improprietous. It's hard to argue that they aren't simply redundant
constructions for (im)proper based on propriety, but they both feel
distinct to me.

Google has about 800 hits for proprietous and over 1000 for
improprietous.

Is there a reason to avoid these words? BB
