Possibly also influence of "recreational"? If there's a considerable phonetic overlap of "creation" and "recreation," the "-al" in "recreational" might carry over to "Creation(al)ism." ---- Just a suggestion.

Possibly the influence of "educational" on "creation(al-)"?
