lexicological progress at the end of the double-aughts

Not only did the last NYT of the double-aughts feature the annual
Week in Review cover piece by Grant and the companion article on p. 3
citing Jesse, but I happened to open up the Metropolitan section at
random and there on p. 11 someone asks the F.Y.I. column (written by
Michael Pollak) the origin of "rush hour", and for his answer he
turns to...Barry Popik!
