trunch

Well-paid TV news anchors still can't figure out how to pronounce French
denizen _trenche_. For a while it was "trunch" (rhymes with _lunch_). Now
on Fox News it's "traunch" (rhymes with _launch_). At least nobody's trying
to make it sound French.

Why won't anybody use the / a / recommended by the Oxford American
Dictionary as the only known pronunciation. Oh, right. They don't use
dictionaries.

And maybe it sounds too "foreign"? Too hoity-toity? Beats me.
