This does not seem to be a single instance, although I hear it more
frequently in speech. (Finding print examples is harder for obvious
reasons.) The sentence is from the AP fact-check of the Palin book.

[Note: I am not sure NYT archives AP stories. Most newspapers do not
because of contractual issues with AP. Bottom line is that the link
