New OED and mistyping

If I mistype a word in Quick search, Quick search results tells me
"No dictionary entries" and blanks out the Find word box.  It would
be helpful if the mistyped entry were retained, so that one is
reminded of what one is looking for and would not need to retype it
completely once again.  (It does appear if one goes back one more
page, where the search term was first entered, but that's an extra step.)
