Do this mean what I think it do?

In her Introduction to _No Rattling of Sabers_ (Austin: Univ. of Texas
Press, 1995), translator Esther Raizen quotes the Israeli poet Nathan
Yonathan, writing during the 1991 Gulf War:

"Strong sheets of plastic belong to life more than any word or poem do" (p.
xv).

Prof. Raizen is Assistant Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at UT Austin.
