MOTY as a category?

That's "Metaphor of the Year".  Or maybe even "Metaphor of the
Decade", as the (world wide) web was for the 80's.  For the MOTY for
2009 (or maybe the MOTD, since it got a lot of play in 2001 for the
same reason) I nominate "connect(ing) the dots".
