Read what Charlie wrote. The teacher is a Southerner. The students are poor kids from the Mississippi Delta. The pronunciations I gave are for Southerners. Your response is totally irrelevant to the speech of the people in question.

With low back neutralization ("caught" = "cot"), the only difference would
be the vocalized "l" ... if that were present at all.
