the police beat dilemma

The backstory, in case people missed it--a 400+ lb woman was "Tasered"
while attempting to leave a store with $600 worth of shoplifted
electronics. Her motorized shopping cart got stuck in the door,
setting off the electronic alarm and bringing out a small army of
"loss prevention officers" two of whom she promptly proceeded to punch
out. The news report on the event used "Tasered" (capped), which is
what prompted me to pose the question.
