banished words - the "back story"

These lists have always been foolish, but the current one is a joke.

The "banishment" of to "google" and to "facebook" proves what an exercise in
arrogance, ignorance, futility, and public relations the whole thing is.

Perhaps the banishment of the actual Google and Facebook is what is being
called for. Till then, however, the verbs convey the intended ideas clearly
and concisely, a hallmark of good English.
