When I was in late elementary school (4th, 5th grade, ca. 1973), if
someone insulted you, you might say back "Yo Momma" (pronounced like it
looks).  But you might say "Jo Momma" (pronounced like it looks), to
which the usual response would be "Angie Daddy", as if you were
exchanging given names instead of insults

What can I say, we were an odd little group.
