Heard on Childrens [sic] Hospital: _cripple-sticks_

Used as a term for "crutches" by a crippled character on the TV
program, Childrens [sic] Hospital.

Ca. 1940, *I* invented _cripple-sticks_ as a term for "crutches."

Unfortunately, as is so often the case, I am unable to document this
claim. On the bright side, no one's tenure depends upon my "research."
So, WTF?
