Brits undergoing Americanization

A casual article on indicators for the degree of Americanization a Brit has undergone:

I'm puzzled by the claim that replacing "I'm well/fine" with "I'm good" is a milestone in Americanization; perhaps the author means "sometimes replacing," in which case, I'm good.
