T'm not sure when I first heard the actual chant. Probably not till
the '50's, when I became seriously interested in football on the tube,
even to the point of becoming a fan of Sam Etcheverry and the Montreal
Alouettes, without any idea of where in Canada that city was. (I
thought that Quebec was the only city of note in Quebec. So, Montry
Aul - not to be confused with Mountreal, i.e, Mount Real, Que.,
needless to say - must have been somewhere else in the Great White
North.) That was around the time that Lenny Moore was the HNOD at Penn
State.
