In the movie "Airplane" every time a Black person speaks, subtitles appear on the screen.

This reality show uses subtitles for a dialect of American English,
that of white speakers in North Georgia.

I haven't seen this done before, but, given the relatively large
number of reality shows based in the South that more or less make
sport of the people of the rural, white South - "What fools these
rednecks be!" - it could be that I just haven't watched a wide-enough
variety of TV.

FWIW, I understand the speakers easily, even though I'm not at all
familiar with that variety of English.
