I infer that the "slogan/image" was posted on December 3, and
"alpacalypse"  is a misplaced reference to the December 21 end of the
world supposedly predicted by the Mayan "long count"
calendar.  Misplaced because the Maya were Central American and
alpacas are Andean (South American).

On the other hand, the llama of Lexington (Massachusetts) was being
walked down Massachusetts Ave. yesterday.  So perhaps the Maya did
have alpacas.  And "the term *is* very satisfying
phonologically".  The list of the most beautiful words in English
needs revision.
