meh!

I have wondered whether "meh" might represent a revival or descendant of the archaic interjection "mew"--which was an expression of disapproval or derision (if not boredom or apathy).

Neither in OED nor findable in the Archives.

I heard it once or twice about a decade ago, but now I've heard it several
times in the last few weeks, and you can buy a T-shirt that says it.
