The spelling of "verklempt" is not Yiddish but German-Yiddish mishmash
(mis)used in American English.

German:  "verklemmt"
Yiddish: "farklemt"

The -p- between -m- and -t- in "verklempt" is epenthetic;
compare English "hamster" and "hampster."
