1889 _Omaha World Herald_ 15 Dec. 11 (GenealogyBank)  Fish?  Why yes, of course.  I remember.  Five little ones on my plate, and French fry.

1894 _Boston Herald_ 3 June 31 (GenealogyBank)  The steak or chop is cooked as ordered, the French fry is done just right, and about an hour afterward the individual shows up and kicks at the tough steak, the dried up potatoes, etc.
