[Ads-l] Query concerning the removal of "French" from "French horn" (2nd try)

It seems as if French horn players consider their instrument to be the
archetypal horn, as it no doubt used to be on the bucolic meadows of
Europe. The hoi polloi probably thinks of <horn> as a trumpet-shaped
object. For me, the horn on the bus goes beep-beep-beep.
