[Ads-l] Treasure-trove or trove?

Nice job, Michael!  We might object to the use of "noun phrase" in the Guardian piece to refer to the compound "treasure trove", but we shouldn't quibble.  And I hadn't realized before Ben pointed it out in his piece that "treasure trove" began as a noun modified by an adjective before being reanalyzed as a noun modifier followed by a nominal head.  Perhaps "chaise longue" > "chaise lounge" is similar for anyone who thinks of it as a chaisey kind of lounge.  And after all, mother-in-laws are species of in-laws rather than species of mothers...
