I recommend the current film "Meru," a true-life, inspirational tribute to

Aside from  that, it  brifely shows a front cover of _Outside_ magazine
from the 1990s (?1998) featuring the headline:

"Masters of Extreme."

Now in my day, that would have to have been "Masters of *the* Extreme."
