[Ads-l] Dialect clash: _shlong_

As it happens, there’s an antedate, if we can call it that, 8 pages earlier; Portnoy describing his father, with his

 "two big healthy balls such as a king would be proud to put on display, and a shlong of magisterial length and girth” (p. 42)

I’d be surprised if no other Jewish writer had an earlier shlong, or if Roth himself didn’t.
