Lord's statement (a quote) applies to the Reconstruction period, nearly 150 years ago, and apparently not to the KKK but to the White League (see Wikipedia).  I hope it will appear on Twitter, be also contrasted with Trump's excuse about not knowing what Duke and the KKK were (that he had a faulty earpiece and didn't hear the question -- clearly a lie, since he answered the question about Duke's endorsement by naming Duke), and be derided as deliberately deceptive in making something from a century and a half ago seem to apply to today's Democratic party.
