[Ads-l] Seen a lot: "Squares and rectangles..." with illustrations

Have the American people somehow erased from their collective consciousness
the fact  that a square *is* a rectangle and that what is called all too
commonly a "rectangle" is an *oblong*, despite having learned these matters
in the first grade, if not in pre-school?
