But those are false grounds, aren't they?  Some persons prostitute themselves ... or are we supposed to infer that there is always some outside force -- societal, psychological, genetic, etc.-- that compels them?  That seems overbroad, since it could be asserted of all human behavior.

The use of “prostituted people” references intertextually “enslaved people” on the grounds that anti prostitution activists' ideology assumes no one prostitutes themselves. They are cast as victims, just as enslaved people are.
