(In honor, perhaps, of Bill Safire, who popularized the 8-letter term in question, although he attributed the coinage to Frank Mankiewicz)

P.S. I see the Times now calls this biweekly puzzle an Acrostic.  Didn’t it use(d) to be called a Double Acrostic?
