Today in a broadcast called "When does inspiration cross the line into appropriation?” on the _q_ (http://bit.ly/2rg7d4R <http://bit.ly/2rg7d4R>, relevant section starting approx. 5:00) and hosted by Tom Power, Dorothy Ellen Palmer used the word “tourist” as follows:

——
… and that idea, that disabled bodies are not valid, can't be written about authentically from a tourist’s perspective.

One of the definitions for “tourist” on Wiktionary (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tourist <https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tourist>) is:

(derogatory) One who visits a place or attends a social event out of curiosity, wanting to watch without commitment or involvement.

Somewhat close, but that still does not cover it. The definition is something like, “an (inadequately informed) out-group person who participates in an in-group activity on a temporary basis".

The online Oxford Dictionaries do not cover this meaning.
