This reminded me of another category of trees in a poem by the late Allen Grossman (one of my teachers), which ends:

11. What is the light that bewilders the eye?

What sound as of laboring cars?

The tree of life that was shaken and dry is moving among the stars.

Moving the trees around, my friend, moving the trees around.

Rockefeller and Kublai Khan are moving the trees around.
