It seems from perusing the many g-hits (184 actual, or “about 2460 results”) for “I’m pooched” that they, unlike the second-person case, involve a mongrel blend of “I’m pooped” with the meaning 'I’m screwed’, signifying a kind of hopeless exhaustion.
