[Ads-l] the eradication of hw

Back in 1961, when I was in the Army, a barracks-mate from Cincinnata
casually asked, "Have you noticed that the "h" in words that begin with
"wh-" is not pronounced, anymore?" I hadn't noticed it. These days, I do
notice it. I simply hope to die, before English follows German and /ʍ/ goes
to /v/, as it already has, in some varieties of non-standard Britspeak.
